double page spread flashback

going for an old tv meets celluloid feel, for a flashback sequence in a comic I've been working on for a class...

you gonna feel the back of my hand, boy

I have no idea why... but this image screams at me in a stereotypical redneck voice... any stereotypical rednecks may now take offence...

I haven't had time to paint for a bit, so I'm posting the reference I'm using for the painting... that's Matt again, since he is my most consistently available model.

I hate blank journals...

and since I just started this one I need to throw something up real quic so I'm not bugged by it too much... it's kinda like having a blank canvas, you just really need to make those first few marks.
